Promoting Pollinators on Your Property
Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 12 PM
Join us for a meeting of the Orangeburg and Calhoun County Forest Landowners Association on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 12 PM.
It has been estimated that 1 in 3 mouthfuls of food and drink we consume comes from plants that depend on animals, primarily insects, for pollination. Pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, and other beneficial insects have suffered increasing population declines in recent years. Although the reasons for these declines are varied and are still being studied, a large contributing factor is the loss of habitat.
Guest Speaker: Clemson Extension Area Forestry & Wildlife Agent TJ Savereno.
In his presentation, TJ will discuss some of the groups of native plants important for pollinators, as well as methods to establish and maintain pollinator habitat.
This event will be held at the Three Saucers Restaurant on 8291 Savannah Highway, Norway, SC 29113.
Lunch will be Dutch treat, but RSVP requested to ensure participant number.
